David R. Wilkins

David R. Wilkins, 77 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 in his residence. He was born in Terre Haute on June 6, 1948 to George Wilkins, Jr. and Lois Peggy Presnell Wilkins.

David was a machine operator at Ivy Hill and was a member of Rivers Edge Bassmaster’s Club. He enjoyed fishing on Kentucky Lake , but most importantly loved spending time with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his loving and caring wife Linda Shreve Wilkins, and three children; David Wilkins (Kristin), Dana Edwards (John), and Doug Wilkins (Jamie). He is also survived by three stepchildren; Terry Schell (Heather), Marie Valentic (Rob), and Jason Schell, his best buddy Javion, as well as 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three grandchildren; Blithe Wilkins, Darian Wilkins, and Hunter D. Wilkins.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Dunlap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care given to David during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Southern Care Hospice, in his memory.
