David Lee Switzer

David Lee "Boo Boo" "Tiggerr" Switzer, 60, of West Terre Haute passed away peacefully at 4:00 a.m. Monday October 3, 2016 in his residence after a lengthy illness. He retired as an electrician due to his illness after many years of service with International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers Union Local 725 at Terre Haute. He was born May 11, 1956 at Terre Haute to James Edward Switzer Sr. and Betty Joan Alkire Switzer. Survivors include: two daughters Cheyenne Rhea Switzer and Sierra Dawn Switzer; a son Michael Kaone Switzer; a brother Robert "Bear" Switzer; a sister Connie "Susie" Beaver; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family would like to give a special thank you to his sister Susie and nieces Kelly, Christy, and Brittany for all they have done to help. He was preceded in death by his son Ryan Vincent Switzer; his parents; a brother James "Jimmy" Edward Switzer Jr.; a sister Janet Blankenbeker; a brother-in-law Bob Beaver; and a nephew Keith Beaver. David was a Vietnam Era Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a graduate of West Vigo High School and Vincennes University where he graduated with honors from the school of aviation after achieving straight a's through all courses toward his degree. He was a member of the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge No. 687 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley Of Terre Haute, and the Zorah Shrine. David loved riding his Harley Davidson and was a member of HOG and NRA. Funeral services for David will be 1:00 p.m. Friday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor David Ward officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday.
