Connie Susan Smock

Connie Susan Smock, 75 of Terre Haute, passed away in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care on September 14th, 2026. She was born on September 2nd, 1951, to Jack Spencer and Dorothy Stark.

Connie worked and retired from the Palmer House and Grandma Joys Café after 30+ years as a waitress. She loved watching T.V. with her husband, especially Heartland. Connie had a special love for her pets. However, the love she had for her family could never be matched. Connie’s kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were her life and loved every minute she had with them.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Smock; daughters, Donna Seymour (Patrick), Kimberly Deckard (Andrew), and Susan Graham-Nickols (Stanley); brothers, Jack Spencer (Joyce), Paul Spencer, and Terry Spencer (Susan); sister, Carol Graham; grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler (Chloe), and Haley (Trenton); great grandchildren, Maci, Dawson, Wrenleigh, and Easton; family friend, Jim Williams; nieces, Leslie and Rachel, a nephew Jeremy; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Connie is proceeded in death by her parents, Jack Spencer and Dorothy Stark; brothers, Alan Spencer and Jim Spencer; as well as her best friend, Becky Williams.

The family would like to extend the heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff of The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, Southern Care Hospice and Cloverleaf Nursing Home for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided.

In keeping with Connie’s wishes cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 21st, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, IN 47885. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm until the service time in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
