Clifton David Thompson, 67, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord, March 6, 2026. He was born November 21, 1958, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Glenn William Thompson, and Frances Pennell. Clifton was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Grace Chapel in North Terre Haute. He enjoyed gardening and growing hot peppers. He also enjoyed bible study and listening to scripture. He was very involved with genealogy. While in the Navy he had an opportunity to visit the Philippines, he thought it was the most beautiful place. He was passionate about the Philippines, loving the culture, the food, and the people.

Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, Joan Thompson, and Rex Walters, and siblings, Carolyn Atkinson, Ruthie Fagg, Myra Thompson, and Jay Atkinson. He is survived by his siblings, Don Sanders (Jennifer), James Thompson, Tim Thompson (Sheri), and Debbie Hoke (Craig), Bobbie Thompson, Tamara Bolton (Dean), and Kimberly Payton. Also surviving is his aunt, Judi Thompson, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service scheduled at 3 pm on March 25, 2026 in Grace Chapel Church. Graveside services for Clifton will be March 25, 2026 in Dunlap Cemetery at 11 am EST, 10 am CST with  Military rites. Cliftons remains will be buried in Dunlap Cemetery.  Pastor Cole Fisher, Pastor Don Sanders, and Brother John Bigger will officiate.
