Clarence "Red" Kimbler, 84, of Terre Haute, IN passed away peacefully at 8:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Red was born to Clarence and Ruth Sullivan Kimbler on May 3, 1932. He married his devoted wife, Marilyn Duree on May 28, 1955. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Tommy, and sisters Tressee Fields, Helen Ferando and Louise Warner. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; three children, David (Kim) Kimbler, Terry Kimbler and Susan Kimbler (fiance Bill Vance), all of Terre Haute, IN. Grandchildren; Ryan Kimbler (fiance Jenna Hefner), Jamie Cook, Kristofer (Heidi) Kimbler, Jesse Hay, Nicholas (Briana) Hay and Brandon Hay. Great Grandchildren; Megan (Kyle) Parker, Ryan David Kimbler, Kaspar Kimbler, Liam Hay, Gracie Hay and Clayton Hay. Great Great Grandchild; Troy Parker Red was formerly employed by Indiana Gas Company for 42 years. He also provided assistance with the Community Service Resitution program to monitor participants while performing community service for the Vigo County Community Corrections. In later years, he was the caretaker of the Pleasant View Cemetary on Durkees Ferry Road, West Terre Haute for 12 years. Red was a lifetime member of the Murdock Auto Racing Club and Joseph A. Bray Marine Corps League. There was not a day that went by without his Family and Friends by his side. Every friend will remember Red's handyman generosity. Red's true joys in life were mirrored through his gardening, square dancing, car repair, fishing with Ben, writing published poetry and great sense of humor. Funeral services will be 7:00p.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday. According to his wishes cremation has been scheduled after all services with burial of his ashes to be at a later date in Pleasantview Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association with envelopes available in the funeral home.
