Christopher B. “Chris” Higginbotham, Sr., 69 of West Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in Union Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute on June 21, 1956 to William Harvey Higginbotham and Jeanetta Jane Scamihorn Higginbotham.
Chris was a man of faith, he put God and his family above all. He was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. His family was his whole world, and he was always there for anyone in need. Chris was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding with his wife, family, and friends.
Chris was a member of Church of God in Terre Haute, IN where he served as a Deacon. He also just recently retired from Allstate Mfg. where he was the Plant Manager and part of that work family for over 50 years.
Chris is survived by his wife Tammy Creasey Higginbotham, whom he married June 25, 1974 and three children; Chastity Bedwell (Billy), Christopher Higginbotham, Jr., and Latisha Minor (Mark), as well as his grandchildren; Levi Bedwell (Danielle), Donnie Snow, Andy Matherly, Lexi Matherly, Isaiah Minor, and Gabriel Minor. He is also survived by his siblings; Jane Tarwater (Rick), Andy Higginbotham (Mona), Bob Higginbotham (Diane), Cathy Loudermilk (Gary), and Lelah Higginbotham, his aunt Norma Higginbotham, step-father Michael Mayfield, as well as his Church of God Family, his loving Creasey family, his All State work family, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has been chosen, with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at West Side Christian Church, 126 N. 8th St., West Terre Haute, IN, 47885 on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Wilbur and Guy Swenson officiating. Friends and family can share stories and have a time of fellowship on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the church. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to his wife Tammy to help offset medical expenses through a trust established at First Financial Bank, in his memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
