Carolyn "Agnes" Tennis

Carolyn “Agnes” Tennis, 86 of Plainfield, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 in Indiana University West Hospital. She was born in and raised in West Terre Haute on January 20, 1940 to George Joseph Fischer and Esther Veronica Coslett Fischer.

Carolyn was a graduate of Concannon High School and was preceded in death by her daughter Julie Yocum, her late husband Jerry Tennis, her mother, her father, and sister Mary Ann and brother Bernard.

She is survived by her grandchildren Jordan Shake and Tasha Baker (Troy), as well as her great grand children

T.J. Baker, Taytum Shake, Zayvion Baker, Sophia Shake, KaLiyah Baker, Jordan Shake, II, and Jaxon Shake. As well as special family members including but not limited to Mary Jo Whallon Porter and Samantha Shake.

She loved her family fiercely.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you use those funds to treat your family to dinner, a movie, or another special activity.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM with Troy Baker officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Cremation will follow services.
