In Loving Memory of Carol Jeanne Dunham

Carol Jeanne Dunham, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, free from pain and reunited with the family and loved ones that passed before.

She grew up in Greene County and was a graduate of Worthington-Jefferson High School. She later made her home in New Goshen, where she built a life centered around the people she loved most. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Dunham of 58 years, and her mother, Betty Bays.

She is survived by her sister, Myra Bays; her daughters, Shannon Goodrick, Amy Favre (Keith), and Sara Lindsey (Matt); her grandchildren, Mackenzie Freeman (Jeffrey), Mark Ross, Jordan Ross (Carole), Savannah Riddle (Calvin), Conner Goodrick, Tyler Lindsey, Nicholas Lindsey and Addisyn Lindsey; nine great-grandchildren; and two more blessings arriving this fall. She also leaves behind extended family members and dear friends who held a special place in her heart.

Her family was her world and her greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking great pride in watching each generation grow and being part of their lives. She was fiercely loyal, deeply devoted, and loved her family with all her heart

She spent several years working at Data Label and volunteered with a local no-kill animal shelter, sharing the generosity and compassion that came naturally to her. While she cared deeply for others and animals, her family was always at the heart of everything she did. The love she gave and the memories she created will be her greatest and most lasting legacy.

Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Jabbour and his office staff at Providence Medical Group, the infusion staff on the fourth floor at Union Hospital, and the VNA Hospice team for the exceptional care, compassion and kindness they provided throughout her illness and final days.

In keeping with Carol’s wishes, she will be cremated with a graveside service planned for Friday, September 11, 2026 at 10:30 AM at New Vermillion Cemetery, with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rather than traditional flowers, the family asks that you consider sharing a gesture of appreciation with the caregivers who meant so much to her. Flowers, cookies, treats or notes of thanks may be sent to Dr. Jabbour’s office staff at Providence Medical Group or the infusion staff on the fourth floor at Union Hospital. Memorial donations may also be made to VNA Hospice.

She will forever be loved and deeply missed by her family and friends.
