Betty Bea McDonald Elliott, 83 years of age, passed away in her residence on Friday, January 30, 2026. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 16, 1942 to her parents Mary Bernice and Harley McDonald and grew up in New Goshen, IN.

Betty Bea was with the love of her life for 46 years, Gilbert Lee Elliott, and is also survived by three children; Michael Mattox (Shelley), Karen Mattox Orndorff (Jeff), and Debra Mattox Busenburg (Mike), as well as her stepson Gilbert Elliott. Also surviving are some of her greatest joys in life, her seven grandchildren; Brian, Zach, Jack, Cody, Amanda, Christopher, and Zoe, as well as her great grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Wyatt, Bo, Lexi, Melody, Aydon, Piper, Kya, and Shane, and also by two great great grandchildren, Landon and Jackson. She also leaves behind two brothers, James O. McDonald and Harley Edward McDonald. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Dust, and grandson Christopher Dust. Together with her husband Gilbert, they enjoyed many adventures with kids, grandkids, and friends. She was a great cook and was a school bus driver for the Vigo County School Corporation for 27 years.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 6:00 PM, with Pastors Bob and Kathy Roush officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Elara Hospice or Emmanuel United Methodist Church in West Terre Haute, in Betty Bea’s memory.
