Amelia Ann “Pat” Sporer May 11, 1935 – April 1, 2026
Amelia “Pat” Sporer, 90, of Shirkieville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born May 11,1935 in West York, IL to Fred Blair and Dora Clark Blair. Pat grew up on a farm in Rosedale, IN. In 1952 she married Robert “Lee” Sporer and they were married until his death in 2008. Pat and Lee lived in Bath, Maine during Lee’s four years in the Navy. Afterwards they moved to Shirkieville, IN to begin a lifetime of farming. Pat loved the Lord and was a member of the Libertyville Church of Christ for almost 70 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. Pat also loved her time with the Vigo County Homemakers Club, her chair yoga classmates, and her special caregiver, Missy Daugherty.
Pat is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Susan Sporer; grandchildren Brandy (Brad) Macak, Jeremy (Breana) Sporer, Gabrielle Sporer, Mei Li Sporer; great grandchildren Emily (Logan) Payton, Grace Macak, Amelia Sporer, Haley Sporer, Henry Sporer; special niece Jill Royer; special in-laws Bill and Lesley Daugherty; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lee, and infant son, Dale; brothers, Bob (Ruth Ann) and Charles Blair (Martha); sisters, Norma Mae Riggs and Kathleen Blair. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute with Brother Mark Strahm officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow. Burial to follow at Little Grove Cemetery in Edgar County, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
